Mapped Graves of Veterans of the American Civil War
The following Google Map has markers, or pins, where many known Civil War veterans are buried in Dubuque, Asbury and Key West, Iowa. This is not a complete representation of all Civil War veterans buried in this area. This is a project that is a work in process. If you know of a veterans grave that is not in the list, please contact us and let us know and we will be happy to get it mapped. If you are exploring the map and find an inaccurate or unmapped veteran whose grave you know the location, please let us know by messaging us on the Contact Us page.
How to use the Map
- Use your mouse to pan and zoom the map.
- Click on a marker to view information about that patriot.
- Click on the square icon to the left of Dubuque Civil War Vets in the upper left corner of the map for a list of all 353 markers.
- Not all markers are pin-point accurate and each cemetery has a grouping of veterans “stacked” on top or near one another. These are veterans graves yet to be located within their respective cemetery.
