Lincoln, Abraham
Abraham Lincoln was no stranger to the people of Galena, Illinois, or Dubuque, Iowa. In 2018, research-historian John T. Pregler demonstrated Abraham Lincoln visited Dubuque in July of 1859. Pregler’s investigative research added a new and only fourth known instance of Lincoln visiting Iowa. Pregler’s documented and fully cited discovery also filled in nine days of Lincoln’s life previously unknown and tracked on The Lincoln Log at thelincolnlog.org.
